If clearly we need GOD's help and this involves a relationship with Him. Since relationships are built on Communication, Respect, Trust, and Love, how can we establish and maintain a relationship with Him?

(1) Communication: Surely to "ask" implies communication, i.e. prayer and meditation. The New Testimate in the Holy Bible, Book of Mathew says:

Matthew 7:11 "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"

(2) Respect: Remember that any relationship requires respect. Respect for GOD is by knowing and following His Commandments, Precepts, and Instructions.  So when you hear of people who trully love GOD, they are obeying him.

1 Corinthains 6:9 "Do not deceive yourselves: no fornicators, idolaters or adulterers, no sodomites, theives, misters, or drunkards, no slanderes or robbers will inherit God's kingdom."

That respecting GOD and Respecting others is freedom and not slavery.

Romans 8:15 "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "'Abba, Father.'"

(3) Trust: The World teaches self trust and dependence (Humanism).  GOD wants you to trust Him, period.  It's His blessing in our lives again, and again that lead to a self dependence when we don't notice that we are actually being blessed by Him. For the psalmist reminds us:

"I will trust, and will not be afraid; or the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."-Isaiah 12:2
